I’m not sure there’s anything that upsets me more than the original We3 covers.
Love WE3. I deploy it as a weapon when I want to make people cry.
Tellingly, the one person I know who hates it is the chap I based Seth Bingo on.
With all the heat Anita Sarkeesian gets for her Tropes series, you’d think it was a new topic, but Gene Siskel & Roger Ebert had a discussion on a similar theme when they were talking about the influx of slasher movies on their show in 1980.
34 years later and this is STILL relevant
a kid from my high is fucking trending on facebook because of a stupid petition to get a senior photo of him holding a cat into the yearbook…
My principal decided to join him in a photo.
The new photograph will go in the yearbook as a way to raise awareness for American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and rescue animals like Mr. Bugglesworth and Vivienne.
this is probably one of the sexiest gifs ever
Holy sweet baby jesus
now this man is either dead or just old as hell but lord he was something else.
who is thiss someone message me!!!
he was my boyfriend in the 1960’s. im immortal
that´s marlon brando
And this is Brando.
It depresses me that people didn’t know who this was.
Fun fact: this is the same guy who got pretty pissed at one of his directors and retaliated by refusing to ever wear pants on set, so the director had to work around only filming him from the waist up.
He was also active during the civil rights movement, to the point where he was even at the March on Washington
(That’s him with activist/author James Baldwin)
He sent a native american woman in his place at the oscars to accept his award because he was angry about the treatment of native americans in this country and in the industry.
Oh and he was also allegedly bi sexual
there’s no alleged…he was bisexual. James B also wanted the D.
Here’s at least one source for Brando’s open bisexuality (he talked about it in an interview at least once).
Brando genuinely earned and owned the title of ally, even if I hate that term for many reasons and even if he wasn’t perfect (not sure if he ever apologized for The Teahouse of the August Moon). He faced death threats from the KKK and other segregationists for his civil rights work and his friendship with Black actors/performers and he sacrificed his career to make a statement about Native rights.
^I was expecting his Oscar speech given by Sacheen Littlefeather to be the FIRST thing mentioned.
He was also pissed off that people thought of his character in A Streetcar Named Desire as a sex symbol.
so I was thinking that mark ruffalo sounds a lot like mark buffalo, and then i decided that i obviously wasn’t going to be the only one who thought about this. so i typed ‘ruffalo the buffalo’ into google images and i found these…
i don’t know why but it made me happy
